Nassau and Paradise Island

Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, is an energetic center for all the islands. Although the famous pirate, Blackbeard, sunk many ships around Nassau, the island’s harbor was perfect protection for the city. Because of this, soon magnificent Victorian mansions were built along with 18th century fortresses, cathedrals, and the wonderful “Queen’s Staircase”, which features 66 steps that lead to a panoramic view.

The island of Nassau consists of ancient forts, noble mansions, local and international crafts, luxury hotels, casinos, cruise ship docks, cabaret shows, and just about every kind of entertainment imaginable. One of the greatest spots on the island of Nassau is Coral Island. Nassau Island, Bahamas There, you will discover a 100-foot tower with a mesmerizing view. If you prefer, you can visit the underwater observatory to see stingray, barracuda, and other creatures up close. Because Nassau is a large metropolitan, you can enjoy wonderful nightlife, excellent shopping, great restaurants, and more.

For Paradise Island, you would head east across the bridge from Nassau. There, you will also find fantastic nightclubs and restaurants, along with casinos and top resorts. The interesting thing about Paradise Island is that for many years, it was ignored. Its magnificent sandy beaches and topical environment completely overlooked. However, as restaurants, hotels, and casinos began to stretch from Nassau to Paradise Island, it soon became a playground for people of all ages.

Paradise Island, Bahamas If you enjoy spending time boating, then you can visit a number of marinas that rent boats. To enjoy some sightseeing and get a glimpse of the architecture, the east end of the island is a beautiful residential section with colonial presence. Other activities include tennis, golf, swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Of course, the moonlight dinner cruises, professional theater performances, and meals of fritters, peas and rice, johnnycakes with guava duff, and boiled fish top it off. All you need is a Pina Colada and you are set for a relaxing time.
