The Jaegersborg Deer Park in Bakken actually got started in 1583 when Kirsten Pill found a running spring. This particular spring soon gained notoriety for its healing powers, specifically around a midsummer’s day. With more and more people coming to the waters, street entertainers followed, realizing they now had an audience and means of making money. This park is so popular that today, more than 2.5 million people come each year. However, unlike other larger European parks like Euro Disney, Jaegersborg Deer Park is unique with a homey atmosphere and a casualness that makes it very, appealing.

By 1670, Christian V came to the park area, doubling the size and establishing a village. The park was intended for hunting grounds and for more than 100 years, served as a great place to hunt on horseback. The Eremitage Castle was constructed in 1736, a place for the Royal family to stay while hunting. Then in 1756, Jaegersborg Deer Park was opened to the public. As you can see, the park has evolved over the years, becoming a place where people can come to take in some of the history and have a great time doing it.
