Tasmania Traveling

Throughout Australia, there are some incredible places to visit, one of those being Tasmania. This particular state is in the southeast part of the mainland and a very busy tourist attraction. Tasmania is an oasis of unspoiled wilderness with some of the most amazing scenery in the world. Keep in mind that Tasmania is divided into distinct regions.

For starters, there is the southeast region, which is actually, heavily populated. Even so, numerous areas within this region allow you to escape from the hustle and bustle to enjoy the beauty of the bushland. Hobart is the largest city in Tasmania, being the capital and the hub for industry and commerce, offering excellent nightlife, restaurants, and some of Australia’s culture.

Now, if you were to travel to the northeast of Tasmania, you would discover timberland and an agricultural area where hops and poppies are grown and sheep graze. Interestingly, many of the smaller towns in this region still display former mining relics. Within this region, Launceston is the largest city. The east coast of Tasmania has the best climate, which is why many people call it “Tasmania’s Suncoast”. The area is magnificent for boating and most of all, fishing, especially at Bicheno and St. Helens ports. In addition to abundant sea and bird life, there is also great swimming and white, pristine beaches.

Freycinet National Park is also in this area of Australia, providing excellent camping and an opportunity to see much of the wildlife and flora up close. Heading over to Maria Island, you can enjoy wonderful scuba diving, fishing, and visiting convict ruins. With exceptional scallops, oysters, crayfish, and abalone, the east coast region is very popular for tourists who enjoy fishing. If fishing is not your thing, then you can take a tour of the many vineyards.

The Tasmania Peninsula is the place to go if you love history. Not only is this area stunning, it tells some of its secrets from past tragedies. The most impressive destination there is the Port Arthur Historic Site, which takes you back to experience a convict’s past. Then, the Eaglehawk Neck is a quiet, peaceful place with natural features, making it a nice getaway.

Finally, when visiting Tasmania make your way to the central highlands where you will discover lakes and mountains contained in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park. The beauty is breathtaking, as you marvel in the lake that was carved out of the rocks by glaciers.
