General admission into the museum is $15 for adults and just $10 for seniors, which includes entrance into the main building, along with The Cloisters, if visited on the same day. However, you can become a member of the museum, which provides you a 10% discount on all merchandise and discount on admission.
Each day, the Metropolitan Museum of Art features a broad array of educational programs to include guided tours, gallery talks, films, lectures, and more. You will even find a number of special activities for families and students. Importantly, you can sketch from the galleries using felt tip, pencil, crayon, charcoal, and pastel but using a fountain pen, ink, or watercolor is not allowed. If you want to copy any of the museum’s collection with oil or acrylic paint, then you would have to apply for and receive a special permit.
Again, there are a number of restaurants such as the Trie Café. Located covered walkway, you can enjoy light foods and snacks. Shopping is also a treat at the Met Store. There, you will find a number of stores that offer various merchandise such as books and various items that focus on art from the Middle Ages.
