Location. Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is located in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, five kilometres from Muscat's old city.
Hotel Features. A luxury beachfront resort, Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is set on a 124-acre site along the Arabian Peninsula and bordered by the Gulf of Oman. The resort comprises three hotels: Al Waha, Al Bandar and the exclusive Al Husn hotel, and has three private beaches on site one of which is for Al Husn guests only. Guests of the resort can enjoy pampering body and massage therapies at the Chi Spa, a self contained village with 12 treatment villas.
There are six main restaurants, seven informal cafes and pool bars, six lounges and bars and a nightclub at Shangri- La's Barr Al Jissah Resort, offering dining options from traditional Middle Eastern specialities to Latin American steaks, pizzas and snacks.
Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa has a gym with sea views, four tennis courts and three outdoor pools, two of which are connected by a lazy river. The pool at Al Husn is exclusively for Al Husn guests. There is a marina and a dive centre offers snorkelling, dive courses and sailing. The kids' club is based in Al Waha Hotel and offers play areas, children's pools, shows and activities. There is also a teens' club. Please note: Children under 12 years are not allowed in the Al Husn hotel pool. Children under 16 are not allowed on Al Husn's private beach.
Guestrooms. There are 198 guestrooms at Al Bandar, 262 at Al Waha, and 180 at Al Husn. All rooms have contemporary decor with traditional Omani design features and artworks. Guestrooms extend to balconies or patios with pool or sea views, and include complimentary bottled water, satellite television, minibars, and bathrooms with separate tubs and showers, bathrobes and slippers. Rooms at Al Husn are larger (48 square metres), have sea views and include DVD players.
Expert Tip. Sea turtles nest in the area, laying eggs and hatching from January to June. The resort has its own Turtle Ranger who can advise on the best places to observe them.

Getting There. The Best Way To Reach The Hotel Is To By Car. Airport Transport Can Be Arranged With The Hotel, Including Hotel Limousine Or Coach. Pre- Booked Limousines Wait In Front Of The Arrivals Terminal And An Airport Representative Meets Guests Upon Arrival. Taxis Wait Outside Of Arrivals And Cost About 30-50 Usd To The Hotel, But Be Sure And Agree On A Price Before Departure.
Getting Around. Taxis Are Available Throughout Muscat But Be Sure And Agree A Price Before Departure. A Four-wheel Drive Vehicle Is Recommended For Exploring The Rugged Countryside Outside Of The City.
Driving Directions. From Seeb International Airport. Exit The Airport And After Reaching The Al Matar Roundabout (Airport Roundabout), Turn Left. Follow This Road Straight Ahead, Following The Signs Towards Muscat. Near Muscat There Will Be A Sign Indicating Ruwi Then Wadi Al Khabir. At The Wadi Al Khabir Roundabout, Proceed Towards Qantab. Once On The Al Bustan Road, Drive Straight Until Passing The Horse Gate (Two Horses On Top Of A Gate Tower). Stay To The Right As The Road Starts Ascending. Turn Right On The First Right Turn, Onto Qantab Road. Look Out For The Brown Sign That Says Shangri-la's Barr Al Jissah Resort And Spa. Drive Straight Ahead To The Hotel, At The End Of This Road.
