Located on a calm bay in the Gulf of Papagayo in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, the Hilton Papagayo Resort Costa Rica stands near Curu National Wildlife Refuge and Las Baulas National Marine Park, where the largest colony of Pacific Ocean leatherback turtles nest.

An on-site diving company offers excursions to Catalina Island, which is home to moray eels, sea turtles, white-tip sharks and giant manta rays.
