Location. The Hotel Splendid sits on the Hohewag promenade in Interlaken, Switzerland. Located between two expansive lakes at the feet of the Eiger, Munch, and Jungfrau mountains, the ornate-faced hotel is 30 kilometres from the central ski areas.
Hotel Features. Cocktails and snacks are served in front of a roaring fireplace within the Hotel Splendid's crimson and black colored lobby lounge and Buddy's Pub. The hotel restaurant serves Swiss and international dishes. The Hotel Splendid features a children's play area.
Guestrooms. The 35 guestrooms of the Hotel Splendid promote a simple design of pine-styled furnishings, wooden floors and cream-colored walls. Large windows, accented with ivory drapery, allow plentiful natural light to filter into the rooms. Rooms include cable television.
Expert Tip. The hotel's bar, Buddy's Pub, opens into the street and serves a variety of beverages. Originally named the Churchill Arms, the pub was the first public bar in Switzerland. Upon opening within the Hotel Splendid, the pub was officially approved in a letter from Sir Winston Churchill's daughter, Lady Spencer Churchill.
