The Goldenes Schwert is a gay-friendly modern hotel situated in the heart of Zurich's old town, within 500 metres of the Lake and Fraumunster Church. There are 22 guestrooms over three floors, individually decorated in bright colours and modern furnishings, and all of which include cable television, minibars, safes, wireless Internet, and bathrooms with hairdryers.

Limited garage parking is available for a surcharge (28 CHF per day). Many of the city's attractions are a short walk away, such as the lake and Kunsthaus Art Museum, and Uetliberg, two kilometres away, offers impressive views over the city. Zurich Airport (ZRH) is 25 minutes by car, 12 kilometres (seven miles) from the hotel.
